One of the biggest new smartphone game releases is here now, though I won’t attempt a review since it’s really not my thing. But polish it has aplenty, with the creators of Hitman GO turning their attention and much of their strategy puzzling expertise to one of the most beloved game (and movie) franchises, Lara Croft. You know, the amply bosomed, tomb raiding jungle adventuress? Taking this theme and applying it to the isometric 3D puzzle genre has created something rather beautiful, as you can see from the video tease below.
From the Store description:
Lara Croft GO is a turn based puzzle-adventure set in a long-forgotten world. Explore the ruins of an ancient civilization, discover well-kept secrets and face deadly challenges as you uncover the myth of the Queen of Venom. Following the award-winning Hitman GO, Square Enix Montréal brings yet another beloved franchise to mobile with this unique take on the iconic heroine’s adventures.
So, with that in mind, I have two videos for you. Firstly the official trailer:
And then, narrated by the developers, a look at the elements of the game and its ambitions:
All rather impressive, though do note two things. Firstly, it’s a commercial game and with in-app purchases on top. But then you’re getting a highly professional piece of leisure software that will hopefully keep you entertained and mystified for days.
Secondly, for a limited time, the developers have reduced the price of the original Hitman GO to a dollar – grab that while you can, too!
