A device called the Green Orange X1 Pro, running the Snapdragon 820, ran up an AnTuTu score of 83,774. If there is one thing that might have helped Qualcomm’s upcoming high-end SoC rack up that score, it is the fact that the device it was powering had a 1080 x 1920 resolution on its screen instead of the 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution display that might have lowered the tally.

The Snapdragon 820 features Qualcomm’s own 64-bit ARM based Kyro CPUs. Qualcomm says that the Snapdragon 820 will offer twice the performance and power efficiency found on the Snapdragon 810 chip. The first phone to come to market carrying the new chipset is rumored to be the Xiaomi Mi 5, which is expected to be released in March.

Meanwhile, the specs of the Green Orange X1 Pro include the aforementioned 1080 x 1920 resolution screen (of an unknown size), a 16MP rear camera, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. Android 4.4.2 is pre-installed.

As we mentioned earlier today, the Snapdragon 820, which has an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 530 GPU, faces competition from MediaTek’s Helio X20 chipset, which includes a deca-core CPU.

Thanks for the tip!
