An Android ROM developer that goes by @LlabTooFeR handle on Twitter claims that the HTC One A9 Aero will be launched in either October or November with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. If this information turns out to be accurate, then the upcoming HTC smartphone will be one of the first non-Nexus devices to launch with the new Android version on board.
Although HTC executives have already confirmed that the company will launch a “hero” phone in the second half of the year, we have yet to come across substantial leaks, which is a bit of an oddity in modern times. Still, according to the limited info that we have, the handset might come specs such as a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset with a deca-core CPU, 4GB of RAM, as well as tricked out primary camera.
Being the first major manufacturer to launch a non-Nexus smartphone based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow could turn out to be just what HTC needs to revitalize sales, although this will all be for nothing if the company doesn’t deliver on the hardware end as well.
