Spotify Running now available on both iOS and Android, will adapt the music to the tempo of your run

Earlier this year, Spotify announced the introduction of a fitness-centric feature in its popular music streaming app. Called Spotify Running, the new section adapts music playlists to the pace of the user’s run. While the feature was previously only available to iPhone users, earlier today, the company announced that Spotify Running is now rolling out to the Android version of the app as well.

Although it’s not an earth-shattering extension, Spotify Running can be a great tool for those who want to match their music streaming experience to the tempo of their run. The next time you put your running shoes on and reach for the headphones, make sure to enter the Running section of the Spotify app. Once you select a playlist, the app will use the sensors on your phone to determine the pace of your run, and will automatically jump to tracks that fit your tempo.

Obviously, Spotify will use everything that it has learned about your taste in music throughout time to serve titles. If you usually don’t listen to music that’s suitable for running, check out Spotify’s Running Originals, original tracks that will dynamically adapt to your tempo.
