The chip will be made using TSMC’s 16nm process and will feature four Cortex-A72 cores and four Cortex-A 53 cores using the big.LITTLE architecture. Maximum clock speed is 2.4GHz and the chip carries a Mali-T880 GPU. There is support for LPDDR4 dual channel RAM, dual cameras (up to 42MP) and a Tensilica Hi-Fi 4 independent audio DSP is on board.The Kirin 950 also supports Cat 10 LTE.
The Kirin 950 chipset recently scored a single-core tally of 1906 on GeekBench, with a multi-core score of 6096. That tops the GeekBench results of 1486 and 4970 respectively, earned by the Exynos 7420. The latter is the chipset found on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge.
