Like comments made yesterday by CEO John Chen, you might notice that BlackBerry says nothing about offering new BlackBerry 10 models. While the company states that it “remains committed to BlackBerry 10,” it also appears that the level of this commitment could be limited to working on enhancing the platform, and sending out updates to it.
BlackBerry started rolling out BlackBerry 10.3.2 this past summer. Those who purchased their ‘Berry from the company’s own online store (shop.BlackBerry.com) got first crack at receiving it. The update added a new UI to BlackBerry Blend, offered a new spell check to users, and enhanced the ability of BlackBerry Protect to do its job by preventing lost or stolen units from being wiped. The update also allowed users to post a return message on the screen of a lost or stolen handset so that someone stumbling across one can return it to its rightful owner.
