i3 and i7 from the same generations have the same architecture, when i3 and i7 have similar clocks you would see that the single core performance is actually the same, a better comparison would be i7 quad core beats the crap out of AMD’s octacore (different architecture). Core’s only matter in comparison when comparing same architectures and designs, but not when they are different. Another comparison would be snapdragon 801 (2.5 GHz, quad core ) vs NVIDIA’s denver design (1.8-2.1 GHz, dual core), now I am comparing two android used SOC just for the sake you don’t come screaming pc and smartphones are not the same. As every single benchmark will tell you, denver crushes the 801 by a big margin. So learn more about something before you make comments, it only shows your lack of knowledge.
