Yes, yes, every other tech site in the world is also linking over to the Microsoft livestream from the event in New York, starting at 3pm BST in the UK, but we had to get in a placeholder too. If you can watch live then do, otherwise we’ll have news posts up here on AAWP, summarising and analysing.
Microsoft is branding the event ‘Windows 10 devices’, implying phones and tablets/hybrids/laptops, but the main focus for AAWP will of course be the two new Lumia flagships, the 950 and 950 XL, of which more this afternoon. Also widely expected to be announced is the budget Lumia 550, the Windows 10 Mobile phone for the masses.
The event itself is in New York City in front of a specially invited (US) audience at 10am Eastern Time – that’s 3pm BST here in the UK. You’ll find the livestream at https://www.microsoft.com/october2015event/en-gb and there’s an official Twitter hashtag, if you’re into that sort of thing: #Windows10devices
As with most press events in 2015, just about everything is known about what’s going to be announced before the event has even started, which ruins most aspects of surprise, but at least there will be a chance for journalists and bloggers in the USA to get some hands-on time with the prototypes before they’re whisked away at the end of the day. So you should start to see opinions popping up online and, at some point, I’ll attempt a summary.
