Yes, Virginia, even the Apple iPhone 6s needs to be paraded in front of the public every now and then through the use of television commercials. It’s not that Apple is worried that people will forget about the iPhone, it’s just that you never know when something in an ad could trigger a purchase of the device. The new ad, which you’re sure to see when watching your prime time favorites like Shark Tank and Blue Bloods (and during sporting events like the MLB playoffs and regular season NFL and NHL contests), focuses on 3D Touch.

For those who have been sequestered for a trial, or just exiting a coma, the Apple iPhone 6s and Apple iPhone 6s Plus were released with a version of Force Touch called 3D Touch. This means that the screen can distinguish between three different tiers of touch. Those would be light, regular, and heavy. And Apple has called the interaction that takes place with 3D Touch, “Peak and Pop.”

For example, when perusing your email app, you can lightly touch on the screen to see a sneak preview of a particular missive. Press harder, and Pop! You are now in the screen showing the email.
