Here is a fair comparison of design elements that were used first between the HTC One series and the Apple iPhone series (note that I am NOT necessarily saying that either phone were the first to use these design elements out of all phone manufacturers, but rather comparing between the two which had them first):

HTC One series
1. Aluminum backing with plastic lines for cellular bands

Apple iPhone series
1. Protruding camera
2. Camera at the top of the back of the device (instead of more towards the center as in older HTC One series)
3. Rounded rectangular home button that doubles as a fingerprint reader
4. Four metal color choices including: gold, silver, grey, and a magenta/pink color.
