Dude you need to learn the basics of photography or at least understand how the camera on your phone works…
The camera on your phone measures light, focus and color depending on what it is currently inside the frame… and for instance, if you want to take the picture of the Moon I wrote about before you NEED to zoom in, for the camera to set the proper exposure values, metering mode and focusing… If you take the picture without zooming in, the camera will measure light from around the Moon and will turn UP exposure and will make the whole scene overexposed…
The same way when you need to take a picture of a particular place in a landscape… if said place has a different lighting condition than the rest or you want a particular result, you are better off zooming in little bit and make the proper adjustments for what you are seeing in the frame… otherwise you will get values that are measured for the whole scene.
And in the case of my Z3C it normally take downscaled 8MP pictures with similar results than its 20.7MP so when you zoom in 3x is can remain at 8MP with a slightly decrease of quality but sometimes, the sacrifice pays off.
And here are some Sony Xperia Z5 Clear Image Zoom photo samples
