Catch pocket monsters in real life playing Pokemon Go on your phone

Imagine getting up in the morning, grabbing your phone, and hunting in your city for Pokemon to catch, battle or trade. With the new Pokemon Go game for iOS and Android, you can. Developed by Nintendo and Niantic Labs, players can also purchase a Go Plus wearable that runs on Bluetooth and pairs with your phone. The Go Plus looks like a Pokeball, and flashes and vibrates when something is happening nearby. It also helps you capture wild Pokemon.

Players get to catch Pokemon, battle with other trainers, and trade with them. If it sounds like a real life version of the Pokemon video game, that’s because it is. Pokémon Company’s president and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara said in a statement that “Our challenge was to develop a great game for smartphone devices that expressed the core values of Pokémon.”

Until real Pokemon are some how bred, and life resembles the video below, Pokemon Go is about as close as it gets to living life as a real life Pokemon trainer. There is no word on whether real-life Team Rocket team members will be lurking around in your city, aiming to steal your Pokemon.

Pokemon Go will launch sometime next year.
