If Apple launches the new iPhones in India on October 11th, like it supposedly said during the closed door meeting, it would be slightly over a month since the new iPhones were introduced on September 9th. That would set a record in the country, for the fastest launch of an Apple product from the time it was announced. The iPhone 6s is expected to be priced in India at the equivalent of $820 USD, while the iPhone 6s Plus could go for more than $936 USD.
During the meeting, Apple is also alleged to have said that it wants to triple sales of the new iPhone models in the country during the fourth quarter. Apple is going to continue competing with Samsung in India’s market for high-end smartphones. With the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ already released in the country, the Samsung Galaxy Note5 will be launched in the market on September 20th. From January through June, Samsung led Apple in market share of high-end phones in India by a margin of 56% to 35%.
