The LG V10 also is equipped with dual 5MP front-facing cameras that allow you to snap a 120 degree wide angle selfie. LG uses a special algorithm to combine the images from the two lens, giving you the wide angle look without having to pan the camera from side to side. With this feature, LG V10 users will be able to throw away their selfie sticks. Thanks to Multi-View Recording, you can shoot a video from different vantage points at the same time, using the three cameras on the phone. You can decide later which shot you want to use in the final version of your video.
Speaking about videos, the LG V10 includes a manual mode for video, making it the first smartphone to do so. Now, you will be able to control the frame rate, shutter speed, white balance, ISO and focus. Videos can be shot in three resolutions, HD, FHD and UD. You can choose from the standard aspect ratio (16:9) or cinematic (21:9) for that movie theater feeling. The V10 also includes a Quick Video Editor to make some post-production edits, and a Wind-Noise filter for clearer audio.
The LG V10 features a 5.7-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. That works out to a 513ppi pixel density. The secondary screen measures 2.1-inches and has a 160 x 1040 resolution, also resulting in a 513ppi pixel density. The Snapdragon 808 chipset is under the hood, carrying a hexa-core CPU and the Adreno 418 GPU. 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM is inside, along with 64GB of internal memory. Those needing additional storage can turn to the 2TB capacity microSD slot that is on board.
With an aperture of f/1.8, the 16MP rear-facing camera allows users to take great shots in low-light conditions. OIS 2.0 is included. A 3000mAh removable battery keeps the generator humming, and Android 5.1.1 is pre-installed. The LG V10 measures 8.6mm thick, and weighs in at 192 grams. The handset brings support for 4G LTE-A (Cat.6),Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and USB 2.0.
The stainless steel frame of the phone will protect it from bumps and falls. A third party lab found the LG V10 to be “MIL-STD-810G Transit Drop Compliant,” which means that you don’t have to hold your breath every time it slips out of your hand. The Dura Skin covering protects your phone from scratches, while giving you a grippy material to hold on to.
The LG V10 will be available in Space Black, Luxe White, Modern Beige, Ocean Blue and Opal Blue, and will launch starting in Korea this month. It will also be offered in the United States, China and other markets in Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, with launch dates to be announced in the not too distant future.
