HTC will sell only the 32 GB version of its One A9 in the US

Announced earlier today during an event streamed live across the globe, the HTC One A9 can already be pre-ordered in the US, though it won’t start shipping before November.

At $399, the One A9 seems to be a good deal, especially since this is the price of an unlocked unit. However, we already know that the new handset has two variants (one with 16 GB of storage space and 2 GB of RAM, and another one with 32 GB of storage space and 3 GB of RAM), and yet HTC’s USA website isn’t mentioning which version you’re buying for $399. If we look at the tech specs available on the website, both variants are listed. Thankfully, Jeff Gordon, Senior Global Online Communications Manager at HTC, clarified things on Twitter, confirming that the One A9 that’s sold in the US is the model with 32 GB of storage space and 3 GB of RAM. This means that you won’t be able to get the 16 GB / 2 GB of RAM variant, at least not directly from HTC.

Besides being offered unlocked in the US, the HTC One A9 will also be sold via Sprint and AT&T. The smartphone’s highlight features include Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a metallic construction, a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, and an octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor. You can take a closer look at the new smartphone by checking out our HTC One A9 hands-on.

Right now, HTC says that the A9’s $399 price is a promotional one, so the handset might become a bit more expensive in the future. Anyway, are you planning to buy one?
