When word came out earlier this year that Apple Music would be available to Android users via an app posted in the Google Play Store, some Android users were excited about the historical significance of such an app. After all, it would be just the second app built by Apple that was earmarked for Android users. The other app was designed to help those switching to an iPhone from an Android handset, move their content to iOS from Android.

Apple had said back in June that the Apple Music app for Android users would be released in the fall, and the tech titan says that some Android users have just received a private beta of the app. A third-party company that arranges private beta testing for a living, is handling the logistics.

One major difference between the iOS and Android versions of Apple Music, relates to the three-month free trial that iOS users can try before laying out their hard-earned cash for the service. Android users installing the app will not have the luxury of testing out the service for free before giving it a whirl. Apple is charging $9.99 a month for individual users, while families can pay $14.99 a month for up to six people. Those prices are the same regardless of which operating system is being employed.
