Sources within the upstream supply chain say that at that price, Apple is not likely to win over many businesses since companies are looking to cut costs at this stage of the business cycle. Yet, Apple had originally said that the iPad Pro would be designed for the enterprise, and for educational use.
As a result of the cautious business environment, Apple has placed orders for 2.5 million units for delivery before the end of the year. And if holiday sales fail to reach expectations, first quarter orders could be lower. Also possibly impacting sales is the launch of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, the sequel to the extremely popular Surface Pro 3.
Besides its 12.9-inch screen, which features a resolution of 2048 x 2732 and a 265ppi pixel density, the iPad Pro includes the Apple A9X chipset, a rear-facing 8MP camera, and a front-facing 1.2MP snapper. While a source originally claimed that the slate featured 4GB of RAM inside, that statement was later retracted.
