MacRumors received a few photos which show that the iPhone 6s (a unit “assembled from parts”) measures 138.19 x 67.68 x 7.08 mm, thus being almost 0.2 mm thicker than the iPhone 6. The new iPhone is also barely taller and wider than the old model, which measures 138.1 x 67.0 x 6.9 mm. Of course, this will be very hard to notice in real life. Still, it looks like the iPhone 6 from last year will remain the thinnest iPhone ever – at least until 2016, when, who knows, perhaps Apple will launch a handset that’s thinner than 6.9 mm. As for the iPhone 6s Plus, it’s said that this is 7.3mm-thin, thus being 0.2 mm thicker than the iPhone 6 Plus.
Most probably, the new aluminum allow, and the implementation of Force Touch technology inside their displays are among the reasons why the new iPhones will be a bit thicker.
Both the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus should be offered in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB storage capacities, for prices similar to those of last year’s iPhones. So, who’s planning to buy a new iPhone?
