Apparently, Google is touting the Nexus 5X as an “all-around champ” that offers “top-line performance and all day battery life” at “an affordable price.” As previously rumored, the handset sports a 5.2-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels (fingerprint- and smudge-resistant), and will obviously run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Like the larger Nexus 6P, the Nexus 5X features a fingerprint scanner on the back: reportedly, “one touch turns on your phone and unlocks compatible apps.”
Powered by a six-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor clocked at 2.0 GHz, the 5X seems to be offering only 2 GB of RAM, plus 16 GB (or 32 GB, depending on model) of non-expandable storage space. The device measures 147 x 72.6 x 7.9 mm, and weighs 136 grams. Its battery capacity isn’t mentioned, but “all day” usage doesn’t sound bad to us.
What about that “powerful” camera mentioned in the title? Well, the Nexus 5X has a 12.3 MP rear camera which, reportedly, captures more light compared to the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 5 2013. That’s due to its larger pixel size (1.55 Āµ) and the f/2.0 aperture. Laser autofocus, dual LED flash, and 4K video recording are also included. The front-facing camera of the new Nexus is a 5 MP one with f/2/2 aperture.
Prices for the Google Nexus 5X 16 GB should start at $379 – unlocked. So, who’s looking forward to buying this new Nexus?
