Repix’s beauty is that it lets you apply effects and basic image adjustments in an intuitive and interactive manner to specific photo regions. Some examples of filters include Cartoonize, Charcoal, Dotter, Flare, Drips, and Silk, which accomplish interesting, artistically distorted effects. But there’s a tradeoff to that, for the app doesn’t include full-image filters.
For ease of use, the app includes direct access to your photo albums and Facebook photos, while the interface is intuitive & fast, as switching between tools happens with litle extra steps. Sharing photos on your favorite services happens similarly easy.
Where in-app purchases are concerned, you can buy additional brush sets for $1.99 apiece. Each set can be tried on a sample photo before, so you can get a taste for what you’re actually getting.
Although Repix isn’t as complete as Snapseed so we can consider it an alternative, it still offers more detailed photo enhancements than Instagram. If you enjoy tinkering with your photos in more ways than slapping on a cool filter with a single tap, we think you’re going to like this app. It’s available on Android and iOS.
